
Beef Tacos
Beef tacos are a timeless favorite—savory, seasoned ground beef tucked into crispy or soft tortillas, piled high with all your favorite toppings. They're quick to make, crowd-pleasing, and endlessly customizable. Whether it's Taco Tuesday or a last-minute dinner fix, beef tacos are always a win.
Ingredients
For the beef:
1 lb ground beef or diced chuckrolls
1 tbsp olive oil (if using lean meat)
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp chili powder
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp paprika
½ tsp oregano
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp black pepper
¼ tsp crushed red pepper (optional)
¼ cup tomato sauce or 2 tbsp tomato paste
¼ cup water
For serving:
Taco shells (hard or soft)
Shredded lettuce
Diced tomatoes
Shredded cheese
Sour cream
Salsa or hot sauce
Fresh cilantro
Lime wedges
Instructions
Cook the beef In a skillet over medium heat, cook onion until soft (2–3 min). Add garlic and cook another 30 seconds. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up as it cooks.
Season the meat
Drain excess grease. Stir in chili powder, cumin, paprika, oregano, salt, pepper, and tomato sauce. Add water, stir, and simmer on low for 5–7 minutes until thickened.
Assemble the tacos
Warm the taco shells. Spoon in the seasoned beef, then load up with your favorite toppings.
