Chicken Tacos

Chicken tacos are a go-to favorite—light, flavorful, and endlessly customizable. Whether you use grilled, shredded, or spicy seasoned chicken, they’re quick to whip up and perfect for weeknights, parties, or taco bars. Just load them into warm tortillas and pile on your favorite toppings for a crowd-pleasing, satisfying meal.

Ingredients

For the chicken:

1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs (cut into small strips or cubes)

1 tbsp olive oil

1 tsp chili powder

1 tsp cumin

½ tsp garlic powder

½ tsp paprika

¼ tsp oregano

¼ tsp salt

Juice of ½ lime (optional)

For serving:

8 small corn or flour tortillas

Shredded lettuce

Diced tomatoes

Diced onion

Shredded cheese (cheddar, cotija, or queso fresco)

Sour cream or crema

Salsa or hot sauce

Fresh cilantro

Lime wedges

Instructions

Season the chicken

In a bowl, toss chicken with olive oil and all the seasonings. Let it marinate for 5–10 minutes if you have time.

Cook the chicken

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until cooked through and lightly browned. Squeeze lime juice over if desired.

Warm the tortillas

Toast tortillas in a dry skillet or over an open flame until warm and slightly charred.

Assemble tacos

Fill tortillas with chicken and your favorite toppings. Serve with lime wedges and enjoy!
