Delicious Oxtail Recipes

1. Braised Oxtail Stew

Ingredients:

  • 3 lbs cut oxtails
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 carrots, sliced
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 3 cups beef broth

Instructions:

  1. Brown oxtails, then remove.
  2. Sauté onion and carrot, add tomato
  3. paste.Add oxtails and broth, cover and simmer 3–4 hours.
  4. Skim fat, serve hot.

2. Jamaican Oxtail with Butter Beans

Ingredients:

  • 3 lbs oxtails
  • 1 tbsp browning sauce
  • 1 tsp allspice
  • 2 sprigs thyme
  • 1 can butter beans


Instructions:

  1. Marinate oxtails with seasonings for 2+ hours.
  2. Brown in a pot, then add water and simmer 3 hours.
  3. Add butter beans and cook 30 mins more.
  4. Serve with rice.
3. Oxtail Pho (Vietnamese)

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs oxtails
  • 1 onion, halved
  • 1-inch ginger
  • 2 star anise
  • Rice noodles

Instructions:

  1. Parboil oxtails and rinse.
  2. Simmer with spices and aromatics for 5–6 hours.
  3. Strain broth, add cooked noodles and meat.

  • 3 lbs oxtails
